Founder’s Note 07

There are fewer things in life that I love more than sitting down with the team every month to brainstorm ideas for The Push. Most times, it takes a few hours (we are a very particular bunch).

But, this time, it took just a few minutes--and that was no surprise to me!

Pregnancy and postpartum nutrition questions and concerns are in our top five most-requested inquiries.

Any of these sound familiar?

“I’m pregnant and craving...metal. Is that normal?”

“Why didn’t anyone tell me morning sickness is NOT just in the morning! Ginger ain’t helping...HELP!”

“‘Find a prenatal vitamin,’ they said. ‘It’ll be easy,’ they said. Why are there 20 million options?!”

“Soooo...do I really have to put down sushi for my whole pregnancy?”

“My doctor said to eat more protein but I can’t afford to do that right now. What do I do now?”

“I’ve tried beer. I’ve tried broth. I’ve tried Fenugreek. I’ve tried all the magic pills and eating all of the milk-friendly disgusting foods. WHY won’t my boobs produce more milk?!”

Pregnancy and postpartum hormones can be wild, and although we tend to just think of pickles and peanut butter cravings, there is so much more happening between mind, body, and baby than just cravings.

I bet you think we are going to get all into science, data, and all the fancy things. We will do some of that.

But, actually, we want you to remember that your body is still your body, and making the decisions for your body is also--and will always be--the best for your baby.

We are so excited to have Dr. Robin Berzin, CEO & Founder of Parsley Health sharing her own approach to wellness while pregnant and parenting. We’ve also included some of our favorite eats, such as Daily Harvest and Misfits (eat your veggies - even the ugly ones!), along with those elusive but necessary prenatal supplements.

Suddenly, I’m craving...

With Love,

Simmone
